Raquel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in individual, family, and group therapy with children, adolescents, and young adults.
Raquel has over 6 years of clinical experience working with clients with complex trauma, anxiety, depression, oppositional behaviors, school avoidances, and self-harm. Her practice embodies a client-centered, multi-faceted approach that encourages her clients to gain a better understanding of themselves and the world in which they live. Raquel utilizes a combination of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), ARC, and Play Therapy in her treatment approach.
Raquel provides a warm, safe, and dynamic environment in which her clients can express their innermost concerns and heal wounds. Through therapy, clients gain the insight and skills needed to cope with challenges and achieve full functionality across their lives. She firmly believes in the importances of forming relationships with each of her clients and utilizing this connection as a conduit of change necessary to help rebuild each individual’s sense of mastery, belonging, and success. When working with children and adolescents, she typically incorporates play into therapy to help reduce anxiety and provide an avenue for communication, as well as the ability to work through difficult emotions in a non-threatening environment.
