Tuesdays 7PM, In-Person or Online
(ages 27+) For clients with Depression, Anxiety, Emotion Regulation and/or Relationship and Transition issues. This group is excellent for clients who are stuck in their individual and/or family therapy or just need additional skill-building or support. Clients will learn concrete strategies to better manage emotions, relationships, and self-care.
Our group therapy program is unique in that we encourage our clients to continue working with their outside therapists when enrolled in our groups. We will collaborate weekly with your therapist to create a cohesive Treatment Team that focuses on comprehensive, high-quality care.
In group therapy, clients gain support and understanding from others with similar experiences. It also offers the opportunity to learn to express and tolerate difficult emotions in a safe and nurturing environment. Group therapy is particularly helpful for teens who feel isolated or alone.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a highly effective type of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), originally created to treat borderline personality disorder. Today, it’s used to treat a variety of conditions, such as bipolar disorder, eating disorders and depression. DBT teaches clients four sets of behavioral skills: mindfulness; distress tolerance; interpersonal effectiveness; and emotion regulation.
But, whether you have a mental illness or not, you can absolutely benefit from learning these skills and incorporating them into your life.* - psychcentral
This group is perfect for young adults who are having a life transition struggle such as taking a break from school, difficulty in daily functioning, conflicts in relationships, issues with self-esteem, or lacking life goals. Our experience is that adding this group as a supplement to individual therapy enhances skill-building and interpersonal practice.
Enrollment is open at any point throughout the cycle. SOME SKILLS ARE BETTER THAN NO SKILLS!
An assessment is required in order to attend this group. We would be happy to speak with you personally to discuss if this group is the right fit for you.
